Project funded by grants ESE 2009 - 2014, under the NGO Fund in Romania. Grant amount - 75,000 euros.
The overall objective of the NGO Fund in Romania is “Strengthened civil society development and enhanced contribution to social justice, democracy and sustainable development”. The Programme will contribute to the overall objectives of the EEA Financial Mechanism to reduce economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area and to strengthen bilateral relations between Romania and the donor states Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
The Fund Operator in Romania is Civil Society Development Foundation together with its partners Romanian Environmental Partnership Foundation and Resource Center for Roma Communities.
The solicitant, ”Targoviste towards Europe” (Asociatia Targoviste spre Europa), in partenership with the County Library ”I.H.Radulescu”, Youngsters for Tomorrow’s Europe Association and The County School General Directorate are implementing the project for 18 months.
The main objective is to involve NGO’s and public libraries in the development of life abilities for children from rural areas whose’s parents work abroad or from other vulnerable gropus.
Target group: 10 NGO, 70 libraries and 1400 children of 10-15 years old from rural areas, whose personal and professional development is threatened. Nonformal education helps them in developing abilities for life.
The objectives contribute to the improvement of the children’s situations through evaluation, counseling in choosing a career. The forming of specialists who help the communities where they come from and the creation of a network will become important resources for them and the community, assuring the project’s sustenability and continuity.
